ALPHA @ MORLEY

We are excited to be launching a pilot of the Alpha Program in our Parish!  It will begin on Tuesday 31 July at 6.30pm and continue for 11 weeks. We have a fantastic Alpha Team who have been training to receive people into the program and to provide warm hospitality. Advertising and promotion are underway.

Now it is your turn! How can you help?

  1. Think about who you could invite to the program. Who do you know who has big questions about faith, life and meaning? Who has fallen away from the faith and may need help to find their way back? Who is struggling and could do with some help to think about their life? If you know someone like this, ask them along—pick up a postcard or wallet card from the display in the foyer and use it as a conversation starter.
  2. Pray! Join our Alpha Team as a pray support member. Take a prayer card and sign up for the prayer team at the display in the foyer.
  3. Offer practical help—sign up for our set up / clean up teams and help to create a welcoming environment or to clean up at the end of the evening.
  4. Offer to cover part of the cost of the meal on one of the weeks or donate coffee/sugar/milk to help keep  costs down.

Have you got questions about Alpha?

What is Alpha? Alpha is a series of interactive sessions that explore the basics of the Christian faith.

Who is it for? For anyone who’s curious to explore the big questions of life, faith and meaning. The talks are designed to encourage conversation and exploration of faith in an open, friendly, informal environment.

How does it work? Over 11 weeks, people experience food, a short talk, discussion and  the opportunity to share their thoughts. No pressure, no follow up.

How much does it cost? There is no charge.
