CYBER SAFETY PRESENTATION

On Wednesday 20 June, Paul Litherland from Surf Safe Online visited Infant Jesus School. Paul is an expert in issues surrounding Cyber Safety and presents to students and parents from all over Perth. He spoke to our Year Five and Six students about important concepts such as netiquette, digital footprints and cyber bullying. Paul returned that evening to hold a parent session about some of the issues facing our students when they interact in our online world.

Some of Year Five students have shared their thoughts from the presentation:

Dom: I liked how Paul gave us real stories about things that have happened to kids online and how quickly videos you post can go viral around the world.

Aurelia:  I learnt how big your digital footprint can become and how important it is to be cyber safe. I really liked Paul the presenter and how funny he was.

Simon: Paul explained that we shouldn’t use Apps or games that are 13+ because we are not old enough.

Alyssa:  I learnt about how stranger danger isn’t just important in the real world, but in the digital world as well.
