FARMERS FOR HOPE

Infant Jesus School show Solidarity to Australian Farmers.

On Friday the 17 August 2018 Infant Jesus School was awash in children and staff dressed up in plaid, wearing gum boots, overalls – and some even dressed up as chickens, sheep and cows. The two thousand dollars raised will be submitted to the ‘Hay and Hampers for Hope’ campaign being conducted by the Australian Primary Principals Association.

At Infant Jesus School we had all heard about and seen the plight of our Australian farmers on the east coast as they experience the worst drought in over 100 years. In fact, it has touched the lives of many people here in the West, and indeed our staff and students at Infant Jesus School.

We discussed the situation as a staff and several of our students expressed a desire to help (in some small way) the farmers and their families. ‘It was wonderful to see and hear our students and staff wanting to do ‘their bit’ to help!’ Infant Jesus School principal said.

All children were encouraged to dress up as a ‘Farmer’ (or something associated with farming) and bring in a donation to show support and solidarity with all the farmers that are struggling during this unbelievably, tough time. A Year Three student, who recently lost her first tooth, decided to help by donating all the money she received from the tooth fairy to the campaign.

FATHER’S DAY BREAKFAST
