(Catechism of the Catholic Church)

Mr Sam Modica Board Treasurer (Re-nominating)
Mrs Jessica Musca Secretary (Re-nominating)

Mrs Nevellene Linquist Parish Representative
Mrs Nicole Mammone P&F Representative
Mr Paul Hille School Principal (ex-officio)
Mrs Clare Moffat Assistant Principal (ex-officio)
Mr Frank Colangelo Assistant Principal (ex-offfico)

This year’s school Board members have been wonderful in their commitment and enthusiasm. We thank each of them for their contribution, commitment and involvement in the school. As a group, they have worked productively to plan for the future development of the school, particularly in the area of school finance. Their ability to work cooperatively and constructively with the school as a parent representative body has been tremendous. As parents, they too, have the vision of providing better facilities for the present and potential students and this has certainly been the foundation of all their decision-making.

The overall role of the Board is to help the school fulfil its educational responsibilities in accordance with constitution, policies and practices of the Catholic Education Commission of WA and the diocesan guidelines. Some of the major functions of the Board are:

  • Planning for the present and future operation of the school.
  • Providing membership on selection panels for employment of staff for the school in accordance with CECWA policy.
  • Liaising in all matters relating to the financial management of the school with persons and organisations in the local Catholic community.
  • Providing representation on the committee which recommends the appointment of a Principal in accordance with CECWA policy.
  • Managing all the finances associated with the school.
  • Advising the Principal with respect to school policy that has financial implications.

I would like to recognise Mr Ric Olivieri who has been on the School Board for the past six years and has done a fantastic job in Chairing this committee for the past three years. In his time as a Board Member and the Board Chair Ric and has seen a lot of change happen in the school, as well as the transition to a new principal. At the end of this year Ric steps down as Board Chair, and while we will officially recognise Ric at the ACM, it is important to appreciate all that he has contributed to the Infant Jesus School community at this time.

At this stage there will be one position available on the School Board for 2019. Both Mr Sam Modica and Mrs Jessica Musca will be re-nominating for their position on the Board 2019 – 2020. If there are any members of the community interested in an opportunity to be involved at Board level, please contact myself to discuss this further.

Regards

Paul Hille
Principal
